The Altivar 320 variable speed drive supplies power to both single-phase synchronous and asynchronous motors. Its compact design allows users to vertically stack drives within the machine frame. With a rugged design featuring IEC 60721-3-3 class 3C3 coated printed circuit boards, it enhances machine availability even in harsh environments, such as operating at ambient temperatures up to 60°C without additional cooling.
This drive integrates essential functions for common applications, including precise torque and speed accuracy at very low speeds, high dynamic performance with sensorless flux vector control, and an extended frequency range for high-speed motors. Additionally, it enables parallel motor operation with specialized drives, utilizing voltage/frequency ratio control, static speed accuracy, and open-loop synchronous motor energy-saving capabilities.
The drive software includes five safety functions that help machines meet safety requirements, whether used with or without Preventa safety modules. These safety functions can be configured using SoMove software.
Designed for OEMs in the machinery industry, the Altivar Machine ATV320 meets the needs of both basic and advanced applications, including packaging, material handling, textiles, material processing, mechanical actuators, and lifting systems. It complies with international standards IEC/EN 61800-5-1 and IEC/EN 61800-3 (electromagnetic compatibility for immunity, conduction, and radiation) and is certified by CE, UL, CSA, NOM, EAC, and RCM.
The Altivar Machine ATV320 drive supports fixed accessories and optional external components such as braking resistors, line chokes, motor chokes, and additional EMC filters, with specific options depending on the drive's rating.
Designed for vertical panel mounting (+/-10°) with four fixed mounting holes, it is fully integrated into Schneider Electric’s EcoStruxure Machine via DTM. Users can configure, control, and diagnose the ATV320 drive directly in SoMachine and SoMove software using the same DTM software block.
