Delta has developed a fully automated visual inspection solution, combining its SCARA industrial robots and DMV machine vision systems to inspect the appearance of programmable logic controller (PLC) products on its own production lines. System Architecture & Operation
The system consists of two Delta SCARA industrial robots (DRS40L Series) paired with Delta DMV Series machine vision systems. The operation process is as follows:
Dual Inspection Workstations
One workstation handles top and front-side inspection, while the second covers side and peripheral views, ensuring full product surface coverage.
Integrated Vision Positioning & Inspection
- Upon product arrival, the machine vision system performs positioning
- Position data is sent to the SCARA robot, which adjusts the camera to the preset angle
- The robot then performs comprehensive automated appearance inspection, sending results to the host system
